Stripers are in Let the Kayak Fishing Season Begin!

Let the 2017 Hobie Kayak Fishing Season begin!  Along with this week's warm skies and calm seas this week keeper stripers showed in numbers this week north of Cape Cod, with many 28-inch-plus fish arriving on Boston's North Shore.   Stripers as large as 30 pounds were reported, along with a few fish in the 15- to 20-pound range. The majority of the fish are still very small shorts or small keepers, but the few larger fish being taken suggests a wave of post-spawn stripers may be moving in from the south.  

Little Harbor Boathouse is hosting the first of four Hobie First Cast Kayak Fishing Excursion Sunday May 21 from 8:30 - 11:30 AM.  All skill level anglers are invited.  Learn the benefits of hands free kayak fishing with 2017 Hobie Kayak Fishing Team members Joe Gugino and Jesse Minoski.   Three more dates are available:  June 3, June 17 and June 25.  Limited spots.
